TypeSafe just dropped Jev, a weird new model that spits out typed decisions and confidence scores instead of text, and they're running a jam to see what people can do with it. free, no experience needed, bring a laptop and an idea, show what you built at 6pm then maybe hit the pub. your only cost is jev credits if you don't have vercel's gateway already.

Come join a short dev jam using jev, a new type of AI “decision model” which responds with probabilities, not text. Jev is the new model from TypeSafe, and it's a bit of an odd one. It doesn't write text. You give it messy, unstructured stuff and it hands back typed decisions with a confidence score, in well under a second, for next to nothing. Think of it as a smart if-statement you can drop into normal code: classify this, route that, pick the right option from a long list. Claire Vo from How I AI gives a good intro to it on YouTube. You don't need to have used Jev before. Bring a laptop and an idea, and just mess around to see if you can get it working. This is a self-directed jam, not a led workshop, but we'll share some resources to get you started. Note - you'll need to bring your own credits for jev - I'll be using Vercel's AI Gateway to access them, but up to you! Agenda: - 4:00pm: Intro to Jev and getting set up - 4:15pm: Build - 6:00pm: Show and tell, with a couple of minutes each - 6:30pm: Finish. We might head to the pub afterwards. We'll be abiding by the CodeBase Code of Conduct, so read it! Big thanks to CodeBase for hosting!
